- Hey Scotty I have a 2002 automatic mazda miata with 166,000 miles, it had a check engine light for the code P0012, the car was running fine so I erased the code and the light hasn't come back, what's the best course of action and what can I do to fix it should it be a problem. Thanks

The fact that it hasn't come back on yet most likely indicates oil flow/pressure issues with the VVT system, not a phaser or solenoid. I would try an engine flush before an oil change to clean out the system of any gunk that may be causing problems.
