Okay, I'm an old guy with old knowledge.
Back in the stone age, me and Fred Flintstone, lol, used to keep our engine clean with something called "Rislone" Do they still make it? Is it a good thing to use?
Other things I've tried:
Restore engine treatment
Berryman B 12
STP oil treatment
All of em snake oil?
I remember Rislone. Used to use it in old OHV engines to free up sticky hydraulic valve lifters. Not sure if it's still made but I don't think I'd try it on a modern engine. Pretty much any oil additive is snake oil. (With the possible exception of specialty additives such as ZDDP for high-performance flat-tappet engines.)
Yes, they still sell Rislone.
Modern oils got rid of the need for most all of the engine "cleaners".
Rislone is something like recycled oil mixed with turpentine.
Don't forget Bardahl,
sounds legit
:silly:
