Hey Scotty! Whats your opinion about a 1994 Mercedes Benz C280 with 125k miles and an automatic transmission? Private seller wants $2500 for the car. Are they any good since it isn’t a modern mercedes?
It can be a fun weekend toy if your mechanic checks it out.
They are fun cars to drive but have there issues. chances are your going to have to replace carrier bearing and center support. The flex disc at both sides of drive shaft . They are known to go bad and some will completely fail. If they fail completely the car will be a total loss. These car also have issues with the manifold, manifold flaps and vacuum system. All the vacuum lines will probably need replacing. As far as the manifold flap You have to buy a new manifold. I don't bey there is any rebuild kits. I could be wrong I haven't checked into that in a couple years. Even tho it's 2500 still have a mechanic with a fancy scan tool we used to look it over. Another issue some of these cars had was rubber on wires breaking off. It wasn't wide spread but has happened.
