Is a 2010 Mercedes ML-350 (V8 4wd) reliable in any way? My parents want to buy it for 11k and it has 81k miles.

Buying an over-engineered German vehicle out of warranty is not a good idea especially for long term ownership - they can become money pits. I would pass on it. Lease a newer SUV if you must have a German vehicle.
