Hay Scotty, an 04 toyota sienna automatic trany clunk at 28mph when slowing after highspeeds, like a hard downshift still doing it after oil and filter change for tranny. No codes, mystery to toyota dealer machanic. Says it is from tranny not linkage... any ideas? Is my tranny on its way out?
Unfortunately, these days most mechanics throw parts at a malfunctioning car, then throw up their hands if that doesn't fix it. You need to find a diagnostician - I really doubt that your would find one at a dealer, they tend to start their own shop, like Scotty.
You need a mechanic who works on transmission to check it out.
Did you have a drain and fill or a transmission flush performed? Where was this done? Was the right fluid used? Is the fluid level correct? How skilled was the technician? How many miles on the transmission?
Given what you've provided, in terms of information, I have more questions than answers.
