- Which is more reliable for 10yrs? Mercedes 2018 GLC 300 Coupe or 2018 BMW X4 both are at dealership.
@tabsy
What did you end up deciding? I'm looking into a 2017-2018 MB GLC300 as well (not coupe)
I posted a thread here: Compact Luxury SUV recommendation? MB GLC 300 thoughts? to see if anyone has insight into powertrain issues (and which other vehicles it shared a powertrain with so we have some reliability data to go off of but haven't had much luck)
@tabsy
A Lexus!
Neither. Both manufacturers regularly compete for the title of "least reliable manufacturer."

I agree 100%!
@inthedetails
Lol, good one!

Ok, so this is where that old saying “6 in one half a dozen in the other” applies.
For reliability, based on what I’ve learnt from Scotty, you are better off with Lexus.
@nick20s
Yes I know Scotty adores Lexus. And I have considered the NX300 F-Sport. However, if I didn’t go for the tried and true this go round.......
I understand!
Going to think can only pick bmw x4 or merc glc.
I would pick merc ..
Bmw if you don't know the history will give u more problems.
But I have not had x4 or glc before just my experience in the past from both models
But like the mods said consider a lexus
@klob
Thanks. I currently have a 2010 535 BMW GT which I Iove. It only has 69000 miles, but, it’s time.
They are a wonderful car . Love the space .good luck
Check out the 2018 Lexus RX 350
Reliability
Comfort
Luxurious ride (try it out - the BMW might not look as good)
In general I try to stay away from independent dealerships, a brand dealer is ok
but do make sure to have it checked out by an independent mechanic you know and trust.
(Pre purchase Inspection)
Lexus has the same prestige and plenty of options and luxury and you wont have it at the dealer
Hope this helps some
@xtraba
Thanks. Owned a 2016 RX350 for 2 years before I purchased the used BMW GT I currently own. It’s lackluster in its handling. Hence, why I ended up in the GT b
Strictly between the two, I'd go BMW. Mercedes is having even more quality issues than normal.
