I have a 2010 Mercedes S550, there is a "battery no charging" message in red, i see other people with the same issue but no one real has a solid solution. I took it to a shop, the couldn't figure it out, they scan with the computer, but did not found the cause. So they suggested me to replace auxiliary battery first, that didn't work, then I replaced the main battery, still doesn't fix the problem. The alternator is good. I just want to see if anyone knows what is wrong, I am planning to take it to the dealer for diagnostic, which will cost couple hundred bucks. Just what to have an idea of the problem for comparison.
Thanks
those Mercedes-Benz is are so over engineered and make your head spin as long as it charges and doesn't leave you on the road I would leave it alone or pay a Mercedes-Benz mechanic with a star test or a small fortune to trace down all the wiring.realize in 11 year old that's 550 is the beginning of a gigantic never-ending money pit
Thanks Soctty, I told my dad not to get a Mercedes while back, but he won't listen, he been driving Lexus and Acura for 20 plus years, only had a few major issues beside the normal wear and tear. I guess he will change his mind once the dealer finish with the diagnostic and show him the cost of fix.
