Hey Scotty, I’m thinking of buying a 1988 Merkur XR4ti as a first sports car/project car. It’s basically the Ford Sierra from Europe. It has the 2.3 turbo Lima engine from the Mustang SVO. Anything I should be looking out for?

Test drive the vehicle. Make sure it hasn't been beaten the heck out it. Have your mechanic look it over before buying.

That car is well over 30 years old - if it's seen salted winter roads check carefully for RUST. Almost anything else is easier to deal with.
