Hi Scotty, shop replaced the variable valve timing solenoid ,2003 crv , metal shaving were found in what I think was a screen , 125,000 miles , will the car last or time to look for another ? Thanks

Metal shavings inside an engine are never a good thing. Sounds like time to shop for another car.
