2012 Highlander AWD V6, 208k miles,  metal rattling sound when car starts.  Rattles 2-3 seconds and goes away.  No codes and no check engine light.  My mechanic couldn’t figure it out.  Thanks Scotty.

Well, generally one of two things do that. If the timing chain tensioner is stuck, it will rattle until the oil pressure builds up and then it stops rattling. The other one is a problem with the variable valve timing system on the cams which is super expensive. Have a mechanic who knows what he's doing. Check it out.  your guy doesn't cut the mustard

Thanks Scotty.
