Mini EV or Kona EV or ID4?

Hi, I'm in the market for a new, small EV. This is mostly because of great incentives in my area where I get $14000 CAD if I scrap my old vehicle.

Which car would you recommend of these three? I'm not that concerned about range, since it will be used only in the city, only worried about long term reliability.

Only BEVs qualify, so no hybrid cars.

Thanks

Hyundai Kona:

A Hyundai Motor Kona electric vehicle caught fire last week in the first-ever known case of a recalled Kona catching fire, prompting authorities to investigate the adequacy of the recall, a South Korean transport ministry official said.  A series of fires prompted mass recalls of Hyundai’s best-selling Kona EV in South Korea in October.

It’s really hard to say because none of these models have been time tested.

Personally I like the timeless look of the mini. But that has nothing to do with reliability.

That's too early to tell. The Kona EV we already know is a pile of junk, the Mini EV is actually a BMW i3 underneath it as it has the same powertrain and it's a decent powertrain but the range is abysmal for the money. The ID4 is too early to tell, but if VW makes reliable EVs then I would recommend the VW, plus it does have the advantage of build quality over Tesla cars which have had problems with their build quality, even on the ones that cost 6 figures.

I wonder how EVs will withstand winters in Canada.
