I have a 2010 Passat Komfort 2.0 Turbo/ for three years now the car is been misfiring on All 4 cylinders so the computer says recently my car has been idling I changed the spark plugs and coil packs and it made it worse believe it or not when I try and start the car it goes crazy almost like I am unhooking one of the calls I smell gas there's white smoke out the tailpipe for about 30 seconds it gets up to 2 RPM just from cranking it the check engine light flashes and it seems like after I drop it for 10 minutes it's fine and the lights dim help me

Did you use OEM ignition coils or go with the cheapest you could find? The latter will almost always do more harm than good.

Get yourself a decent scanner from Scotty's recommendation and take a look at your data, Scotty covers causes of misfires constantly, so there are a ton of resources on his channel to dig through. Misfires don't always trace back to the ignition system. Anything from a clogged air filter to dirty fuel injectors to low fuel rail pressure from a clogged fuel filter/ bad fuel pump can cause them. Even a bad MAF sensor can cause them if it's sending false data to the computer. Post your codes and data, and we'll point you in the right direction if Scotty himself doesn't get to you 🙂 /p>
