I have a 1999 toyota 4runner that shakes and misfires when cold. It smells like gasoline from the tailpipe. When it began recently I got a code p0420 catalyst below efficiency bank 1. That was the only code. Once it warms up it runs perfectly fine.

How many miles on the car?
I would start with easy stuff, clean the MAF sensor and throttle body. Change the air filter. Dirty fuel injectors and bad spark plugs could also cause rough idle. You may need to analyze the live data for finding the exact issue.
