hi scotty,

my front tire got the side wall ripped. wondering if i can mix different tire brand. Like i have michelin and they are expensive, wondering say if i can get something less expensive but same size but different brand name. And i will be buying a pair not just one. nothing really explain this on youtube nor on scotty's channel.

From personal experience, you will wonder why your car shakes alot. In pairs it's better.

@suzuki
you mean, its a set of four diff brand or a pair of same brand like my current tires.

I have a general rule.

Dont mix your tyres ..but if you have.

I would only mix them in pairs .

Front left and right

Rear left and right.

Otherwise you could get an uneven or strange ride .. steering act funny

Will mess with ride.

Iv'e done it. Not optimal.  You did not mention if your car was AWD or not. AWD, all 4 must be replaced, or you will have issues with the AWD system (and could damage it)

atleast the one that got damage was the older tires.

price for "pair" of same tires will cost me same price for a set of tires for different brand.

Scotty should make a quick video about tires mismatch and mixing trend wear special for Fwd which the Front tends to wear faster like in my case
