Motor Knocking

Scotty,

I have a 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser, with 110,000 miles that I just got the oil changed. I had them (Walmart) use high mileage oil. After driving for about a week, I noticed the engine is knocking. Is it because of the semi synthetic oil?  It has never knocked with any previous oil change. I purchased some Lucas Complete engine treatment. But I haven't used it yet, I wanted to get your opinion.

Thank You

No, there is nothing wrong with semi-synthetic oil. If they did any damage it would have been initially forgetting to put oil back in the engine and starting it up. I would never trust WalMart or a quick lube joint to do an oil change. Many horror stories come out of those places.

Snake oil and a waste of money.

More detail is needed about this "knock", how deep it is, its frequency (crank speed or camshaft speed), and under what conditions it occurs. If possible post a video demonstrating the noise.

no I don't think it's the oil. I would suspect the Wally's world lube techs before anything. Check to make sure they actually put the drain plug and filter on tightly. Check the oil level yourself. Personally I would never take a landcruiser there. They'll destroy it.
