2004 honda accord lx 2.4. I need motor mounts. Anyone know which brands are best for my vehicle?
Get the OEM.
Trying to find them now
It sucks that everything that my car needs the parts are expensive. I should've got a toyota
Check the prices on a 3rd gen VCM odyssey and then compare it to your accord.
You can also try a JDM parts store online. There are plenty online.
Are you just buying the OEM parts from the dealership & installing them yourself, or do you intend to let the dealership instal them for you too?
If you’re not going to instal it yourself, find an honest independent mechanic to work on all the issues on your Accord & have him source genuine OEM parts. For all you know, it might work out cheaper than buying the individual parts yourself..
I have a mechanic to do all the work just cant find the parts at a decent price. Someone from youtube told me aboit a place yhat is like a few hours from me.
if you have a mechanic, why are you trying to buy parts yourself. That's his job.
He never really gets the parts for me but hes an awesome mechanic
Stick to OEM for the motor mounts. The aftermarket stuff never works as well.
I think I'm gonna just try to save up and buy another vehicle. I just bought the car a month ago abd had to change the struts, control arms, sway bar links and water pump. Now i need motor mounts. I bought a lemon. Only thing yhat is good is the engine. Passenger Window stopped working too. Its just way to much to fix and sucks i bought it for 3,000 haha guess next time i gotta be smarter. This is my second car i have to junk in less then 3 months. All good you live and you learn.
I can understand that man. That's a lot of parts to replace so fast. But hey, bright side is you spent $3000, not $30,000. So life lesson as you said. Hopefully you can find something in a bit better condition.
Yeah and just got an awesome job opportunity that i might not be able to take. But i cant seem to find the oem parts.
Ouch. Well hopefully that's not the case and it works out for you. I wish you the best. {black}
I can drive fine but i just dont need my car breaking down on me or worse. Im not sure what to do. I am suppose to start on monday. But i can always go back to my old job.
Ive been talking to this mechanic on youtube and he said no no no never get motor mounts from ebay. And this after i ordered haha. He told me go to the honda dealerships or this place in jersey he told me about. Well guess ill be sending them back. Just hoping i can find them at a decent price or ill just have to go to a shop.
try rockauto.com
I tried rock auto but thry dont have the oem parts.
Look at the parts under the "Standard Replacement" header. They will be good enough. Especially for a 17yo car.
Honda doesn't make parts anyway. They just buy them from 3rd party manufacturers and slap their name on it.
Didn’t you have this vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic, before purchase?
I did not which is my fault but I guess I'm just gonna work on it. Might as well because I probably can't sell it around what I paid.
How much did you pay for it? And how much $$$ worth of parts & labour does it need to get back into normal shape?
I paid 3000. It really only needs the motor mounts and im good to go.
Good luck
2004 honda accord lx 4 cylinder. So i was advised to never get ebay motor mounts from ebay so i returned mines. I was told go to a honda dealership. So i called the dealership and was told for all the parts its over 1000. Will it be this price at every dealership? Does anyone know of a place that has oem parts for slightly lower price. And also if i took it to a good shop for them to work on them would they put in good parts?
Check with your local automotive store. I am sure they will have better pricing.
Should i ask what brands they are going to be when they say they have them or they can order them?
Yes I would check with them and see what brands they have. Some times they will have multiple parts.
I am being told oem is the only brand i should buy for motor mounts. But im just wondering if all the dealerships are going to have the same prices. Should i try mechanic shops too?
Depending on how far the dealer ships are they might have different prices.
