Hi scotty 2012 camry 4l engine, it has like 140k miles, check the oil dipstick today before i change it and for the 1st time its at the bottom point of the dipstick never had that happen, it's been 4600 miles since last oil change, i change oil every 5k miles i use mobil1 0-20 any idea why it got so low this time. And does buying oil in walmart, oreilly or autozone makes a difference. Thank you feeling concern.

Did you mean to say 4cyl or 4.0L engine?

@inthrustwetrust
I'm pretty sure meant the 4 cylinder engine I respectfully want to doubt your proposal of a 2012 Camry having a 4.0L engine {black}:sweaty:

@kerem never say never.

You're probably burning some oil at that age/mileage. Definitely check for leaks to make sure there isn't an issue there.

It doesn't really matter where you buy your oil as long as it meets the manufacturers recommended viscosity.

You have to investigate. You might have a slow leak from the oil plug. The pan gasket could be dry or cracked, and oil could be leaking from there. The filter could be slightly loose, a slow leak there.

Other possibilities: The engine could need a valve cover gasket replacement, if that's leaking.

Or, because all Toyotas, as they age, burn more oil. Run your finger inside a cold exhaust pipe. If it comes out blackened, the vehicle is burning oil.

If its a Camry with the 4 cylinder engine:

They tend to burn oil as they age. You would just need to check the oil level every once in a while and not let it run with low oil. Add oil as needed.

If its a Camry with a 4.0L engine:

How did you manag- nevermind, in that case same thing applies but in a Tundra V6?
