What is the best way to check and fill the transmission fluid on my 2002 mercury mountaineer?

Hey mechanic. Since it doesn't have a dipstick it's a royal pain to actually check it without special tools and a computer to check stuff. But a few of those did have dipsticks then you just drive it for 5 minutes leave the car idling and check it on a level sidewalk with the engine running
