My 2006 Dodge Charger V6 SXT has a hard time switching out of 2nd and 3rd gear (automatic). A couple years ago I had a guy replace my water pump and assuming he didn’t correctly time the timing chain but idk. My check engine light Flashes also. Any suggestions. If you think that’s the problem what would have messed up? I also notice the serpentine belt gets frayed easily on the left side due to the water pump pulley is not flush it kinda pokes out a 1/16” or so. What’s it gonna take to fix or should I sell it for parts?

You got different issues with the car. Start with finding the code for the check engine light. The serpentine belt is another issue.
