My 2018 Honda Accord makes a rattling sound upon cold start up

I have a 2018 Honda Accord 2.0t, 10 speed automatic with about 60,000 miles on the odometer. When you start the engine cold, it makes a rattling sound until it warms up. The noise is noticeable even from inside the cabin. Not sure what it is. I took it to my private mechanic and they couldn't replicate the noise or find the problem. Any suggestions?

The cold start rattle is undoubtedly the timing chain needs replacing.  About $1500, parts and labor.

On a 4-year old Honda at 60K miles? Maybe if the oil was never changed or level too low. Possibly a problem with the chain tensioner sticking when cold or like Scotty says the variable valve timing? (Is oil correct viscosity, probably 0W-16, so VVT is working properly?)

That was my thought too, Chuck. The previous owner treated it like an eco box and never changed the oil or did much in the way of maintenance. Otherwise, the chain should have lasted for at least 120K miles.
