I really wanted a jeep ordered it November 2011 got it feb 2012. I read about the penstar engine never thought that will happen to mine .. i was wrong check engine light came on.. took it to the mechanic who always does my oil changes. Long story short after a tune up oil change i didint ask for picked it up 675.00 light came back on!! Brought it back He had it for 3 days. Picked it up engine light came on again. He said its still miss firing said it will still run!!wanted another 460.00 shouldn't he known the 1st time engine is bad. I called jeep they dont care. Traded in in for a 2021 HRV. Jeeps are garbage. !!!
Sorry you had to go through all that, but, yes, that doesn’t surprise me - Scotty and the community keep warning people not to buy Jeeps. Hopefully, the Honda HRV will be a much better experience.
If you really, really want a Jeep it's best to buy one of the old-school models with the inline six. Even with the complications brought about by age and wear they're loads better than what Fiat is peddling today.
