My car runs and has a battery light on dash and starts and charges alternator why is my battery light on 2007 Camry

Beats me, you have a charging system malfunction and need to do some diagnostics to find the cause.
A good start would be to check the basics: load test the battery and alternator, check battery connections and grounds for corrosion and looseness, check the alternator fuse. A blown diode in the alternator can also cause the charge light to stay on.
Beyond that low-hanging fruit, since the charging system in modern cars is computer-controlled you'd need a professional-grade scan tool to dig deeper.
