my brother's 2017 chevy Silverado 1,500 single cab the automatic transmission went out a couple months ago but it now its fixed now im just wondering
Hey scotty my brother's 2017 chevy Silverado 1,500 single cab the automatic transmission went out. After my brother does burnouts all the time. But now its fixed by his mechanic, and im just wondering that does chevy Silverado's transmission does wear out alot more then regular automatic transmission or all the burning out make the automatic transmission wear out alot faster?
The burnouts don't help, but Scotty has stated quite a few times in his videos that late-model GM light duty trucks are low-quality garbage.
Are GM’s automatic transmissions worse
You can't sweep them all under one blanket statement like that. They were very good transmissions. The best. GM pioneered the automatic transmission and even used them in wartime vehicles. The old 4-speeds were very dependable. The new Ford/GM partnered ones like the 10-speeds are junk.
my brother's ... automatic transmission went out.. does burnouts all the time
I guess they forget to design them to do burnouts.

all the burning out make the automatic transmission wear out alot faster?
Yes. Duh. It puts immense stress on it. Did you think there wouldn't be consequences for abusing it?
Try reading the owner's manual.

Do you know what transmission it is? Their 8-speed that they put in the Silverado has known issues, and I believe has a pending class-action suit. The 6-speed is fine; at least average and maybe better.
I don't think that year had the new 10-speed, which is also good (it was a collab with Ford, but for some reason has had trouble in Fords but has been very solid in GM products).
