I have a 2002 Buick LeSabre Custom. It has about 98,000 miles on it. The cluster on it doesn't work, and I can't tell what my mileage is,among other things. A friend gave me an address to send it to and they'll fix it in ten days, but I'd have to take it out and mail it and that's a lot of trouble. Is there an easier alternative?
Probably no easier alternatives. Chances are you either have a bad connection that's developed over the last 20 years or a faulty instrument cluster.
I went through this on my car and it was just bad connections, cleaned and reseated them and it's been fine for years now. (Fortunately the entire top of my dashboard can be easily removed in 15-20 minutes so getting to it wasn't a problem. I haven't worked on an '02 Buick though and don't know what you need to do on that vehicle.)
