Good luck man, you bought a RAM, sold it, came to the Scotty Kilmer forum, and bought a brand new one?

Is there something i should know about dodge?

I already know to avoid GMC!🤣

and early 2000's Toyata's are a unstoppable dream!

Well realize back in 2020 RAM was part of FCA (now we have the French merger) and the Italian quality is dismal. All the electrical and electronic stuff break down and the engine transmissions are weak its just not the best set up I hope yours lasts a while but you basically bought an Italian Fiat on large wheels.

NOT A FIAT! 😱
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

And Stellantis.

I think "Good Luck" about sums it up.

Tradesman Rams aren't terrible. But you can do better. My friend has a 2020 1500 and the tailgate is already broken - when you pull the handle nothing happens. I like that you got one without all the crap that breaks.

I would not recommend one over a 6.2 F250 or a GMC 2500 base work truck, because a good chunk of the Rams are made in Mexico. I support unionized labor and condemn Stellantis for their taking advantage of poorer folks down south.

I would never recommend one but since you already got it, take care of it. You should be fine. Just expect all the little things and interior to go south. The powertrain is reasonable.

The Ram engines and transmissions are decent, but the electronics are the ones that go out first.

do you mean the electric trucks, or the electronics IN the trucks?

Who wants to guess what RAM should stand for in a toxic way? I would say Retarded Auto Mobiles. Didn't mean to say retarded lol.

OH! so the problems with the newer ones is the electronics?
i figured it would be something dumber
but at least the diesel engine is really high quality...

Yes. They're known for electronic problems.

what engine is the new one? Diesel or gasoline?

Gas, my dad got tired of the maintenance.

Better have the 6.4 if it’s a 2500. Look the tradesman isn’t a bad setup because you bypass all the bells and whistles and it’s more of a truck than a computer. Nothing really wrong with the 6.4  I’ve seen them with 300k mi still pushin. other than the legendary HEMI tick which you may not end up getting. Just as long as you don’t sit idle for loads of time it’s fine. Gotta make sure that oil is flowing. The ZF 8 speed is really not a bad tranny. Sure, there’s a possibility  you’ll have parts wearing out sooner just replace them with quality aftermarket when they do and that truck will do fine. It’s just the name of the game with those Italian/French made trucks.

it is the 6.4 hemi

Then you’re fine, regular maintenance that truck should last just fine. These guys going to follow along what Scotty says. And they aren’t necessarily wrong. If you have ever had experience with Ram Trucks you should already know what you’re getting into. The truck should do fine. @rolengoldslick
