Hi Scotty, my name is Munya and I have a Toyota corolla 2002 model E12 series, and my dashboard lights dim when I switch the lights on. I checked all the fuses and they are all fine. I have attached a video for you to have a look at.
That is normal. When you turn on your park light/headlights it means you want to use it because its dark or it is nighttime. So the dashboard lights will get dim so you won’t be distracted or be blinded by the lights inside your car. Almost all vehicle do that. Anyway, I can’t find the attached video.

Yes they are dimming somewhat when you turn the lights on but if you can't read it at all often the dimmer switch goes bad which you can disconnect and then connect the wires together to have full brightness all the time
