MY FORD FUSION IS SMOKING, STALLING AND ROUGH IDLING...WHAT IS THE ISSUE?
Greetings Scotty! Much respect to you: great content! Always Informative.
I have questions regarding my 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium and a Smoking Exhaust issue. So I did an oil change on my car last Saturday; went to handle business...finished my business and got back on the road...As I was driving down the street, my car started lightly vibrating; I then pulled off the street when safe and shuttle car off and waited a couple of minutes thinking that maybe the shaking would stop( now, also I did receive a P0087 Code which is common in most Ford Fusions regarding the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (LOW); restarted the car and began to drive again but this time yet again the vibration return but only more aggressive. Then I noticed white smoke expelling from the exhaust from the back of my car; then the RPMs went unstable; when I applied acceleration, once the RPMs raised to 2nd gear, the car felt as if it was stalling; then rough idle. This was totally abnormal...so I took it to the nearest Mechanic shop (Meineke)....they scanned my car and said that it was a Camshaft "bad" solienode issue...I returned the following Monday; picked up the car and headed home. It drove normal for 3 miles until I stopped at a traffic light. As the light turned green I travelled on until the car started stalling again; then rough idling; then the exhaust began to smoke profusely except this time it continued as I drove down the highway until I arrived home (this was a total of 2 hours)...since then I haven't moved the car (when I start the car; white smoke comes from the exhaust). My question is, How would you diagnose this situation???
I have a 2013 Ford Fusion TITANIUM AWD, Mileage: 147968.0mi., Automatic, P0087 Fuel Rail Pressure (Low)
First thing I would do is this watch my video how to tell if your head gasket is blown Scotty. pray it's not that because then you'll have to tell the engine apart if it isn't it could be flooding out from too much fuel in which case you need a mechanic like me to diagnose the system things could like leak from the injectors the fuel pressure regulator lots of things can make them fill up with too much fuel
