When I cold start my Toyota Camry 1998 le 4cyl
When I start it, it sounds normal when I’m letting it warm up then I hear a grinding noise for about 2-3 seconds then subside sometimes it would grind again for 1-2 seconds it happens when engine is cold.
sometimes it doesn’t grind on cold but then when I start it up when I’m somewhere else and I drive it grinds a bit more then goes away.
what would be the explanation I will have a video tomorrow

take off the serpentine belt and see if the sound goes away1

Sounds like you are going to need a new timing chain set.
