My son's car will get a check engine...I will scan for the code, after doing a visual check of the car for a PO171 code. The next day my son said the check engine light did not come on. This is the second time that this has happened with a different code. The last time It was a 422 code...why is this happening?

Did you look up the codes? They are potentially related. What do fuel trims look like?
