Need advice on buying our last vehicle.

We are looking to buy our last car (new or used). We presently own a 2015 Ford C-Max Hybrid with approximately 96,000 miles. The batteries are warrantied by Ford for 100,000 miles. We are a little anxious about long we keep our C-Max even though we have had no problems. Even though men are supposed to look under the hood when buying a car, I am not a mechanic and only know if it clean or dirty.

1. Should we keep are C-Max? If so, how much longer?

2. Can you recommend a new or used vehicle (car or truck) that should have a good trouble free life?

3. Is an extended warranty service worth buying? If so, can you recommend one?

I would get rid of the C-Max now to get some money, I would go for a used older Ford. You didn't what type of car nor brand but do not buy a newer ford because of everything that the 10 speed transmission has done.

Thanks

For #1, and nearing end of warranty, I would seriously think about another vehicle. You don’t want to get stuck with expensive repair costs out of warranty as Ford hybrids were not all that great.  As for #3, if you pick the right vehicle in the first place then there is no need for an extended warranty.  With extended warranties, you would only want one that’s from the OEM (and not third party), and also realize they can still find ways to get out of a warranty claim so don’t always count on it (unfortunately).

As for #2, you didn’t give any constraints, but a good place to start is and what I would personally look at:  (cars)  Toyota Camry,  Avalon,  or a Lexus ES350;   (CUVs) Toyota RAV4,  Highlander.

Thanks slot.
