Hello Scotty
I have been watching your videos for the last year or so and totally respect your opinion and experience. I have a question about a used vehicle I’m looking at in the 8,000.00 range.
I am looking at a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe sport that is front wheel drive with 118,000. Kilometres and it has a 3.5 litre V6 and automatic tranny. It is 6,900.00.
The other vehicle is a 2010 Toyota RAV4 that is all wheel drive with 190,000. Kilometres and is a 2.5 litre 4 cyl and automatic tranny. It’s 8,000.00
Based on your experience what vehicle would you recommend.
Thanking you in advance

Hyundai’s are built with much less quality.
If you plan to keep the Hyundai another for not more then 5 years or 60,000 miles, it’s MAYBE an option.
But generally, I think that the RAV4 is the better option out of the two.
You never know what can go wrong on a Hyundai of that age.
I do not trust anything that old and complex made by Hyundai.
Cheap simple 1.4/1.6L are alright cause you can get them for very cheap with low mileage and while they’re still only a couple years old.
Rav4 all the way. That Hyundai is a hunk of junk.
Hyundais are not known for quality, esp. beyond 100,000 miles their overall reliability deviates from Toyota’s. I would easily go with the RAV4. Just make sure to always have an independent, honest mechanic check out before you buy (even on Toyota’s).
It depends on what you want
If you want a hunk of junk to punish yourself so you can learn a lesson
get the Hyundai
If you want something reliable that will last you a long time
get the Toyota
lol the most common complaint with the 2010 Sante Fe is the engine blowing up
Toyota all day long and on Sundays./
