Me and my wife have a 2011 chevy silverado  5.3 4x4 ext cab. It has 171.763 miles.   And the rear main seal is leaking.      What should I do. I have tried stop leak.   And still leaking.  And now.when I crank.it smokes bad and smells. Like burnt oil.

You need to replace the main seal. I would take it to an independent mechanic and have them look it over and advise what repairs are needed. But the main seal you need to replace.

Need to replace the rear main seal. There are several videos out there, but the people blab too much in most of them. Here's a time-lapse to see what's done to replace it.

Only solution is to pull the trans, replace the rear main and reinstall the trans.  Toyotagrl has it right.
