Hey Scotty, I want a second car for work. I'm 24 and learning to drive a manual by my mom. She had a Oldsmobile in high school.
Anyway, I'm looking into a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass SL Coupe. It's listed at $3,800.00 on Facebook marketplace. 127,000 miles. Could it be a scam? The car appears to be in good condition, definitely would need some interior work though. Through a private seller.
Also looking into a Toyota Celica on Facebook as well. 1988 Toyota Celica GT Convertible Coupe. $4,000. 135,000 miles. Needs new tires and a power steering hose. What do you think?
DONT
Facebook is a cesspool and Facebook Marketplace full of scammers. Not a good place to look for a car.
Both are really too old but all things being equal the Celica would be the better choice of the two. Any car you're serious about needs to have a pre-purchase inspection by a good mechanic. The problem with those is a lot of today's mechanics won't work on cars that old which lack OBD2 diagnostics.
