An oi2019 Kia optima LX with 126000 miles. I've recently gotten an oil change and I already need more oil. This is not the only time it happened. What could be wrong before I go to a mechanic to get up charged.
What could be wrong
You did not state how many miles it has been since the oil change. Hyundai and Kia engines are well known to have oil burning problems, and those companies consider burning up to a quart of oil every 1000 miles to be "normal" for warranty purposes. Unfortunately if you're using more oil than that your vehicle is well beyond the 100K mile powertrain warranty.

You should monitor how much oil is actually being used. Start with the dipstick on the full mark and see how many miles for it to use a quart of oil.
As far as remedies you could check for leaks and try changing the PCV valve. You might also use the ATS Carbon Clean product that Scotty has talked about in case oil control rings are coked up with carbon. However if none of those things help the chances are that your engine is wearing out.
