I am from Slovakia but I have an auntie who lives in Florida.
She bought a used 2001 Chevrolet Impala 4-door; 3.4 liter V6 used in 2010 and recently scrapped it with 163;343 miles.
According to her; it "had its quirks" and leaked coolant all over the place. She said the car actually served her well and did not require any major repairs up until like 3 years ago so she decided to move on.
She bought a brand new 2022 Buick Enclave with the 3.6 liter V6 and 9-speed automatic transmission.
What do you guys think of her choice? Is it a good car?
No. Scotty has made numerous videos about it you can search. You can also search the forum I'm sure there is a plethora of information.
the 3.6 liter V6
This is a high failure rate engine. They're known for grenading due to timing chain stretch issues.
Sure they may $7k cheaper than a Toyota, Lexus etc. but you'll be spending $10k more to replace the engine.
No
She would be more disappointed with this one compared to her Impala.
Unfortunately they are not very good, but being brand new if she takes care of it hopefully it will last a while.

She should get rid of it as soon as possible with the high used car prices and get a Toyota or Honda (Rav4, Highlander, CR-V, etc.).
