[Solved] New car for my daughter

Dear Scotty, My daughter wants to buy a new car. What is the most safe and reliable car under $30,000? BTW I am a 60 yr old woman who is attempting to restore a 1987 Ford Escort all by myself, the help of your videos and the loan a tool program at AutoZone.  So far I have replaced the gas tank and sender, the alternator, all of the belts, portions of the brake lines and the gas lines, the master cylinder, the front calipers and pads and the rear drum brake cylinders. I love working on mechanical stuff even though it's not very girly.  It's okay because I do a lot girly stuff too 😉  Anyway I know nothing about cars younger than 20. My everyday car is a 2002 Honda CR-V and I do all of the maintenance on it.  It runs great.  Any advice on a safe and reliable car for my one and only, 20-year-old precious girl would be valued and appreciated extremely!  I very much trust your opinions and insights.  Thank you!  And please keep making those videos!

Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic would be the primary candidates.

To Corolla and Civic I would also add Mazda 3 as a third option, jut make sure the VIN starts with "J" (made in Japan).
