Hello Everyone,
I Have an 07 Honda CR-V ,
if you are given a choice from a brand new Denso ac compressor with clutch to a rebuilt Honda Ac compressor from a dealership, which would be your best choice ?Why?
Stay away from rebuilt AC compressors, quality tends to be low and failure rates high.
Thank you chuck Tobias,
All Honda dealers charge around $1000 for a rebuilt ac compressor with ac clutch assembly and they give 30000 miles warranty, Are you saying the $400 new Denso with 12 months warranty is better ?
Yes, absolutely. $1000 for a rebuilt compressor is a ripoff to begin with. Also bear in mind that if the rebuild job goes bad and the compressor seizes up you'll wind up having to replace your entire AC system due to contamination. Will their warranty cover that damage or just the compressor itself?
Denso is one of the leading brands for AC compressors. I'd use a new Denso over a dealer-ripoff rebuilt job any day of the week.
I’d go with the new Denso. The rebuilt one is probably a Denso.
Agreed, the dealer is likely just charging a fortune for it.
I would go with the new Denso part and not a rebuilt one. AC systems are not something you want to roll the dice on.
I would purchase whichever part comes with the best warranty, new or rebuilt.
