You're right. Neighbor has a 2022 GMC Terrain. 6k miles and the engine blew up. Took a month to replace. {black}:crying: 😯

Why did the engine blow??? I just bought a 2022 Terrain Elavated and keep excellent maintenance Oil change synthetic every 3000. What maintenance advice can you give besides sell? {black} Just changed oil as it passed the 500 mile mark.

This is why Scotty and this forum keep warning everyone not to buy GM products or products from the other brands.

Not only did he get a terrible car, he got absolutely scammed!

The GMC Terrain is super similar to the Chinese MG HS (same engine and things like that), but that's a $17,000 car! (it isn't offered in the states at the moment, but still) I can't image what he payed for the GMC Terrain SLT as it STARTS at $32k 😐.

The almost identical Chevy Equinox was already a bad deal at over 25 grand for a COMPACT SUV 😶 that's 3 grand over a similar sized Corolla Cross that'd probably last forever. BUT AT $32K?? that's Lexus UX kind of money! with how dealers are marking up their cars - he probably payed for that 1.5L GMC over what a Lexus NX 2.5L costs! 😣

I REALLY recommend him selling it ASAP.

While the used car market is still hot - he can maybe still recover 85%-90% of what he payed (after the market goes back to what it's used to be, I doubt it's going to be worth anything - not many people are in the market for a compact GMC, it's probably is going to depreciate and age like milk). I really recommend getting rid of it and getting a normal decent reliable car made by Mazda/Lexus/Toyota and NOT GM/Chrysler/Ford.

Also as insult to injury, the "GMC comes with a standard 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty" (probably the WORST in the industry - especially considering the reliability of such cars), Lacks power, and looks way cheaper and worse than it's Mazda-copycat Chinese cousin (that has semi-autonomous driving with lane keeping and adaptive cruise control)

Not shocked one bit.

Unfortunately nothing surprising; they make junk.

Shame to hear of blatant lack of quality control.
