Currently in the market to buy a Rav4 or Lexus but can't decide which to choose between 2018Rav4 for 16k or 2013Rx350 for same price
Both are are great choices but if you want luxury go for the Lexus.....but either way have them checked out.
@emonse can you copy and paste your answer into the ‘Your Answer’ box below? Thank you. This spot up here is more for clarification type questions/comments for the OP and anyone answering.
What is the mileage on both?
Get whichever one you like better, and make sure to have a mechanical inspection done.
Just realize if you keep both and put lots of mileage on it the Lexus will cost more to maintain/repair than the RAV4. The 2018 RAV4 is also the last year of that generation (model year 2013-2018) so presumably the bugs would have been ironed out. The 2013 RX350 is in the middle of its generation (2010-2015) so should be refined as well. Test drive both and see which you like more, you can’t go wrong either way.
Always have a mechanic check out before you buy. The one in better condition and better service history is the one to get.
It is going to come down to personal preference but I would go with the newer rav4 just because it is newer and probably has more "new" features.
Look up the cost for a 100k and 120k service on the Lexus. For my ES350, they’re $1k and $1400k. If you do your own service then it’s not an issue… But I like to have my cars professionally maintained.
Scotty always recommends a four-cylinder versus a six cylinder just for ease of maintenance.
‘The RAV4 engine is very buzzy... even win cruising along at 65 to 70 mph.
One is luxurious and the other is scrappier and a bit more fun to drive.
I would go RAV4 because it’s easier to maintain, and it’s very spacious inside even though it’s considered a compact SUV.
good luck
