I recently bought a 2010 chevy equinox 3.0 v6 automatic. Everything is fine except when I go to fill up the car. As soon as filled it up whe I try to crank the car won't start. After a few tries it starts up but then runs a bit rough then Everything works fine. Can anyone help me, please!? Could it be a leap with the evap system

Yeah only when I fill it up then after that when I start it, it runs fine until I go fill it up again

Leaking/stuck open EVAP Vapor Canister Purge Valve. ($30 OEM, $15 aftermarket)

That's what I hope it is! Thank you! I'll keep updating

Could that also be the problem for why it may shake when I drive around 40 to 50 mph

Probably not. Once the engine coolant temp reaches around 160f the computer would command the purge valve open at that speed and RPM anyway.

Okay I checked the auto parts store and called, they sell them for 56 the cheapest. Where do you recommend to buy it. I checked auto zone, Napa, and oriellys.

GM P/N 12690512 (Replaces 12610560, 12661763)

.

Use that part number in a google search to find cheaper aftermarkets if you don't want an OEM one

Thank you! I changed it today and went to fill it up and no rough start. You're aife saver

Thanks for letting us know

Jack62 I do have another question if you get time to answer. When I drive the car shakes around 45 to 65 mph. If accelerate harder it smoothes out and it not always the same speed when it shakes just occasionally or going uphill. Would you know what it could? I could also run the codes if that would help

Run the codes and post it as a new question so it gets more attention and isn't buried in this thread. Include the vehicle info again and the mileage.

Yes, it definitely an issue related to the EVAP system.

Does this help?

That probably what it is. I read something about that, but now for sure gonna try to replace it. Thank you!
