Hey Scotty,

I have an 05 Nissan 350z. Need some help diagnosing an issue

had this issue since yesterday. went to go turn off the car and still heard something running in my engine bay. i’m not sure what part it was, i thought it was an exhaust fan, but it was something running in the brake / ABS area. maybe the pump? No dash lights.

i left it for a few hours and that running noise was still there. i checked the battery voltage it was still normal.

i go to disconnect the battery noise is gone, reconnect it the noise is back and running.

what could be the issue or thing I need to fix? haven’t taken it on the road since.

i thought it was an exhaust fan

what's that?

One possibility is the EVAP system. Those are sometimes programmed to run while the vehicle is shut off. A mechanic's stethoscope is cheap and can help locate the source of sounds.

Well definitely pinpoint the no. I see my video finding the source of car noises. Scotty. And if it's coming from the brake ABS modulator the big piece that is all the lines that come out of it. I would live with it as long as it doesn't drain the battery because those ABS modules replacements can cost well over two grand

Have to figure out where the noise is coming from before anyone can make any recommendations. You could try pulling the ABS fuse and see if the noise stops.
