Okay so basically anything Nissan in the last twenty years or so that’s FWD+CVT and if it has the 2.5L STAY AWAY from it?
On the other hand, if it’s RWD and has a standard automatic or manual it’s safe?
that’s my basic understanding of Nissan for the past twenty years. Weird question but just wanted clarification.
Generally speaking, that may sound accurate. I may be okay with a FWD + auto or manual. I would look at the engine history and how long they have been around. Nissan may have some tried and true engines still in their lineup. Although they seem to have more of the Renault collaboration stuff in their cars these days.
My first hand experience with a Nissan was a mid 1990's Altima, and that thing lasted pretty well. Developed some sort of weird groan, possibly the steering, but after almost 20 years of ownership.
Granted that Nissan is another era.
@kaizen From what I have heard Scotty say, Nissan cars are not so good but their trucks could be ok especially if priced thousands less than their competitors.
Yes, that’s what I understand from Scotty as well.
