[Solved] Nissan Engine missing when revved up

I have a 2012 Nissan Maxima with 95,000 miles... it had a service engine soon light come on and the engine started running poorly.. like missing when I revved it up to about 2500 RPM.. that is when driving and idle.  The code was for MAF sensor.. so I replaced it with an OEM Nissan part.  The car has ran well for over a week.. but driving today started the same thing.. but I have no codes come up.  I do have a video of the problem but not sure how to include it here. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks,

William

< All right.. another follow up.. still no check engine light.... but I hook up the scan tool anyway.. and it says P0101 fault 1of1 pending... 1. Flow Meter plausibility 2. MAF sensor

You can replace the mass air but some of those concerns if you don’t have the vehicles self learn cleared the car wail continue to run the way it adapted to with the bad sensor.. I would do a throttle cleaning(wipe it out inside using a rag sprayed with throttle body cleaner ) and do a hard reset on the battery and go from there

See here (especially the factory service bulletin for your vehicle) -

Ugh!  You have a Gremlin!

Make sure to test the battery and alternator.  Check and clean ground cables.

Examine the MAF connection again.

Check the air hose going from the MAF to the throttle body.  If there are cracks in those ribs it will throw everything off.

Thanks for all the different suggestions... I went out today and it started up and ran fine all day???? I am at a loss.. there was no jerking or hesitation at all. If the problem returns I may try and take it to a dealer. Thanks again.. if you have anymore suggestions I would love to hear them.

I would say its the injectors

Make sure it’s a proper fitting air filter a lot of aftermarket ones don’t seal well and allow dirt and debris to enter the sensor. Otherwise you can check the pcv hose from the rear valve cover to the intake manifold on the passenger side they can collapse and either close or split and leak that can cause some similar funky problems
