Hi Scotty,
I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier XE 4cyl manual that had a bad ECU. An auto repair place I took it to sent it out to be fixed, but they said it was unfixable. I took the truck to the dealer, and the ECU is no longer made. They say they can't program a used one without some code on the old one, which has been thrown out after 30 days by the ECU rebuild company. Am I completely screwed? Thank you for your efforts, Scotty H
Sorry such a late response. The company that received your ecm never should have thrown it out since it’s your property and it sounds like the dealer needs to make that right. If the computer isn’t available from Nissan anymore you should be able to just get a new one as long as it’s for the same year and engine. As long as they match it should only requiring just programming your keys again.
Yes.
