I have a 2008 Nissan Frontier 4.0 with 98,000 miles I would like to keep this truck for a while should I change the radiator since there was a problem with the transmission cooling lines Also should I change the transmission fluid I take very good care of my truck change oil every 5000 miles and changed all the fluids except the tranny what do you think
What happened with the transmission cooling lines? Did the vehicle overheat? Did you also experience any leaks? If yes, then I would replace it.
For the transmission fluid- you can change the fluid. Drain and refill but no flush.
Nothing is wrong with the radiator or tranny line it’s just what I heard about Nissan having problems with the radiator coolant leaking into the transmission
The radiator should be fine unless it was somehow damaged when you fixed the transmission lines. I would do a drain and fill on the tranny.
Radiator nor the transmission line was damaged it’s what I heard about antifreeze leaking into the transmission through the transmission cooling line Nissan had a bad radiator in 08 as of now nothing is wrong with mine
After reading up on the problem, I would replace the radiator. Radiators are not very expensive and pretty easy to install, usually.
