Hi Scotty. Bought a 1997 Toyota Celica GT Convertible last week. Only paid $1200, was part of an estate sale. Engine and transmission are fine, working on one or two peripheral things.
One thing I've noticed is that when I turn ignition key to ON fan number 1 kicks on before even starting the engine regardless if engine is hot or cold. Fan number two works normally, that is when the ac is activated.
Carried out the usual visual inspection of the wiring, checked relays and fuses, all OK. Any suggestions at what could be causing this? The car has 230,000 miles and is an automatic transmission. It has the 2.2 engine, same as the old Camrys.
Thank you
Rob
I live with that somebody probably wired it to run all the time so it doesn't overheat because if it's not there generally it means that the main computer circuit that drives it it's just stuck on and the computers cost to tell the money and having it run all the time actually hurts nothing at all
