2006 Nissan Micra, 116,000 miles, automatic
Good Morning,
I purchased this car of an owner who did a DIY job of a reverse camera mirror installation.
When I indicate right, the trunk lid bulb flashes in-between the moment the indicator bulb ticks off. This is not the main concern.
When I indicate right whilst holding the brake pedal the ticking is faster, the indicator light is dimmer and the right brake light & trunk-lid light start flashing in-between the indicator light ticking off.
There are no issues with the left side. Presumably the wiring on the left hasn't been tampered with.
However, the wiring on the right has been tampered with and has caused an issue with dimming the right indicator bulb whilst in use, and turning on the right brake and trunk-lid light whilst indicating right.
I will mention the rear wiper doesn't work either however upon further inspection I can see 2 of the 3 wires for it have been cut, which possibly can be repaired by simply connecting them back together correctly.
The job was poor and I have removed the camera mirror with the wiring connecting the rear camera however the issue with the right side rear lamp persists.
I would like to request for some knowledge on this specific issue and would like to thank you in advance for your response.

Okay the problem is everything is run by computer these days. And if he wired it up with a messed up job could have easily have damaged some of those computer modules. Look closely where he did the work though and make sure that that area is grounded correctly. If you have a poor ground, all kinds of weird things like that can happen. You have to check both the power and the ground wiring back there

I have now reassessed and connected the wires that were initially disconnected, this sorted all the problems I mentioned.
The indicator bulb in question is well lit up whilst indicating and the trunk light is no longer turning on in sequence.
The indicator is no longer ticking faster than usual whilst braking. The brake and trunk light is no longer flashing on in sequence nor dimming the indicator bulb.
It seems like it was as simple as correctly wiring the disconnected wires on an albeit poor job on fitting a reverse camera mirror.
