I have a 2006 Nissan murano SL with 106000 mileage. Idle rpm drops from 800 to 400. 400 idle rpm is normal for the car? If it's not normal, May I know the issues causing low rpm? The car has a recall related to the engine air filter, a weak back Nissan guys replaced it. By any chance, this problem is caused by the replacement. Thank you.
My guess is they did not reassemble it correctly.
Take it back or it will begin stalling.
If it happened after the dealer worked on it, then yes. I hope they didn’t mess up the MAF sensor or damaged any parts in the process.
Lol. I'm sure the techs get some crazy "12.8 minutes" to complete the recall.
Not gonna double check their work for free.
400rpm is abnormal. Watch Scotty’s video on how to make your car run better with a little spray cleaner.
Did this problem appear specifically after the recall work was performed?
yes
Take it back to them & ask them to fix it for free. Odds are they didn’t install it correctly or damaged some parts in the process. And don’t get suckered into paying for any repair work done, since the problem didn’t exist before they touched your car.
The dealer should fix it for free, regardless of the cost. Hopefully they don’t refuse it.
If they don't, I'd start with maf cleaner and clean maf, then clean IAC with it.
I'm pretty sure the intake boot came off slightly at the throttle body when they replaced the AF causing too much air and dropping the idle. Never heard of a AF recall, BTW. Agree with most, take it back if the issue was not there before.
