I have a 2020 Nissan Murano 62K miles. I was just told by the dealer that the Front Control Arm bushings splitting and dry rotting. I researched and seen a recall on older Nissan vehicles with the same issue. I brought this vehicle brand New and had it 2.5 years. I’ve had Toyotas and never had a problem with the suspension at 60K miles. The dealer quoted $1600. I’m thinking it’s related to poor quality. What’s the area repair cost for something like this? Do you think I should trade out of it for something like a Honda or Toyota.
There's a very good chance the dealer is lying and trying to rip you off. Is the suspension making any noise? Does it feel loose? If concerned I'd have it looked at by a good independent shop. However if you are in a position to get rid of it that would not be a bad idea.
I’ve driven with dry rotted and cracked control arm bushings for months.
Unless you’re hearing clunking over potholes/rough patches, I think..

The suspension feels the same as it always did. I need some new tires but nothing dramatic. I’m currently looking at other vehicles. All this time I’ve gotten routine maintenance done and they supposed to do an inspection each time. They wait until after the power train warranty was up to find this issue. You may be right.
