My son bought a pre-owned first generation Nissan Rouge with 125k miles. I have no idea if the CVT fluid was ever changed. Should I do a drain and fill or just let it be
Yes, that is often the end of life for that model transmission.
Coworker drove a 2008 Rogue over 300,000 miles. Same engine, but it took 3 transmissions to get there.
Check for signs the transmission was already replaced. He might be good for a while if that were the case.
Do a drain and fill he's living on borrowed time anyways
Thanks guys. The transmission isn’t slipping and there’s no signs of it starting to go. Maybe it was replaced already, but I doubt it. Will the Lucas transmission additive help as a preemptive action?
DO NOT use that stuff in a CVT & do not put it into a perfectly functioning conventional automatic!!
You should change the fluid rn and keep it as a routine every 30 000 miles. The transmissions on those 1st gen Rogue's are pretty weak, but the engines are fine and can run a long time if u take good care of them.
